The iPhone 7 Plus was released in September 2016 alongside the iPhone 7. It is the larger of the two devices, with a 5.5-inch Retina HD display, and features a dual-camera system with improved zoom capabilities. Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus has a water-resistant design and a pressure-sensitive home button.

Design

The iPhone 7 Plus has a similar design to the iPhone 7, with a metal unibody design and the same antenna band placement. It is available in the same six colors as the iPhone 7: Black, Jet Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and (PRODUCT)RED.

Camera

The most significant difference between the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus is the dual-camera system on the latter. The iPhone 7 Plus has two 12-megapixel cameras on the back: one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens. This allows for improved zoom capabilities, with up to 2x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom. The camera also has optical image stabilization and a ƒ/1.8 aperture. Like the iPhone 7, the front-facing camera has a 7-megapixel sensor and can record 1080p video.

Performance

Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus features the A10 Fusion chip, which provides improved performance and efficiency compared to the A9 chip found in the iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus has 3GB of RAM, compared to the 2GB found in the iPhone 7, and also has improved battery life compared to its predecessor.

Software

The iPhone 7 Plus originally shipped with iOS 10, which introduced new features like a redesigned lock screen and updated Messages app. Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus is compatible with the latest version of iOS, which includes features like Dark Mode, Screen Time, and improved privacy controls.

Other Features

Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus is water-resistant with an IP67 rating, and the home button is pressure-sensitive and uses haptic feedback to simulate a physical click. The iPhone 7 Plus also has stereo speakers, offering improved sound quality for music and videos.

Conclusion

Overall, the iPhone 7 Plus was a significant improvement over its predecessor, offering improved performance, camera capabilities, and battery life, as well as introducing new features like water resistance, stereo speakers, and a dual-camera system. It is a solid choice for anyone looking for a larger smartphone with advanced camera capabilities.
