Sometimes, you may want to keep the ringer and alert volume on your iPhone at a specific level. Fortunately, there's an option in the Settings app that allows you to lock the volume at your preferred level.

Here's how to lock the ringer and alert volume in Settings on iPhone:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on "Sounds & Haptics".
  3. Under "Ringers and Alerts", you'll see a toggle switch for "Change with Buttons". Make sure this toggle switch is turned on.
  4. Next, turn up or down the volume using the volume buttons on the left side of your iPhone until the volume is at the desired level.
  5. Once you have the volume set to your preferred level, go back to the "Sounds & Haptics" page in Settings.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a toggle switch for "Lock Sound and Haptics". Turn this toggle switch on.
  7. When you see the confirmation pop-up, tap on "Lock" to confirm.

Once you've locked the ringer and alert volume, you'll notice that the volume buttons on the left side of your iPhone will only adjust the media volume, not the ringer and alert volume. This means that if you receive a phone call or a notification, the volume will remain the same as the level you set it to.

To unlock the ringer and alert volume, simply go back to the "Sounds & Haptics" page in Settings and turn off the "Lock Sound and Haptics" toggle switch.
